Infant Massage Class Course

Five weeks class course for baby and you
A fun way to learn how to soothe your baby, relieve tummy upsets, and understand your baby’s non-verbal clues and language.
Physical contact is the most important and primary channel for your baby to connect with you and the world. Through physical contact, you nurture your baby both physically and emotionally.
For many centuries mothers in many cultures have been nurturing their babies with massage. Infant Massage strokes are uniquely designed with the inspiration from Indian tradition, Swedish tradition and yoga movements.
The classes are informal, relaxed, and small enough to ensure that you and your baby get the personal attention you need.
In our Infant Massage Course you will learn how to give a whole body massage to your baby with proven techniques. Pressure, rate, rhythm, the length of the massage, respect, bonding, why babies cry, babies’ non-verbal language, relaxation, how to relieve tummy upsets and parent empowerment are some of the other skills and topics you will learn.
Our Infant Massage Course is open to babies from birth to 12 months age and one parent/carer.
Infant Massage is more than a just massage routine. Research in infant massage and experiences of families have showed many benefits:
  • Promotion of bonding and secure attachment
  • Increased sensitivity and awareness of baby’s verbal and non-verbal cues
  • Decreased symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression in parents
  • Increased interaction between baby and parent
  • Stimulated muscular development and growth
  • Stimulated circulatory-, digestive- and hormonal systems
  • Relief in gas and colic pain
  • Reduced stress hormones
  • Longer sleep time

Massage oil is one of the topics that we will be talking about in the sessions.
You can bring your own massage oil, but it is not mandatory; a small bottle of organic olive oil will be served to everyone in each class.

fewer interventions, and less need for medical pain-relief amongst other things.
