What is a Postpartum Doula and what do we do?
A postpartum doula is a non-medical assistant and support person during the postpartum period. As postpartum doulas we will always keep your parenting style in mind and not force our opinions on to you.
We are not medical practitioners and will not perform any clinical procedures. We provide evidence based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother/baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care. As postpartum doulas we are there to help you and your partner feel reassured and confident in the first days and weeks after the birth of your baby.
We help you recover physically from birth using traditional methods and modalities like rebozo massage and herbal baths. We help you recover emotionally from birth through listening and being present. We help you recover mentally from birth through reflective conversation and clarification.
